LAKELAND, FL - Florida Southern College women's tennis suffered its second loss of 2019 on Monday afternoon, falling to Academy of Art, 4-3. The No. 12 Moccasins (12-2) faced a tough challenger in the No. 11 Urban Knights (8-3), falling in doubles play and splitting the six singles matches with ART U.
No. 23 Lorena Rionda had a strong showing in the No. 2 singles flight, defeating Taisiia Andrieieva in two 6-1 sets to improve to a team-best 11-1 record in singles play. Gabby Hesse won by retirement in the No. 6 singles flight, improving to 3-0 in singles play and remains the only Moccasin with an undefeated record.
