LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern College men's tennis kicked off its 11 match homestand on Monday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center, winning 6-1 over Findlay. The No. 18 Moccasins (5-1) won a decisive doubles points over the Oilers (4-6) in route of the win.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- Erik Nordblom and Andres Cabezas cruised 6-0 in the first doubles flight while Soh Kuyama and Ivaylo Slavov won 6-4 in the second flight for the Oilers. Southern clinched the doubles point with a 6-4 victory in the third flight from Chase Martin and Danny Thomas.
- Miroslav Cvjetan cruised with two 6-1 sets in the No. 5 flight, while Cabezas won 6-0, 6-4 in the No. 2 flight. FSC clinched the match when Martin won 6-4, 6-2 in the No. 4 flight.
- The Oilers earned a point back in the No. 6 flight as Mark Ivanov won 6-2, 6-3 over Brian Pham.
- Valentin Herwteck battled in the No. 1 flight with a 6-4, 7-5 triumph and Oscar Sohl closed the match with two 6-3 sets.

Southern will host Grand Valley State on Wednesday, Daemen on Saturday and Southern New Hampshire on Sunday. All matches will be at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
