LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's soccer battled in a non-conference matchup against Flagler College, but unable to win in a 1-0 loss Wednesday night at Moccasins Field.
The Moccasins fought hard defensively in the first half against the Saints. Goalkeeper
Jenny Staten had five saves in the first half as the offense worked to get shots on goal. Florida Southern (4-6-1, 1-3-1) had a great shot by
Amy Volk halfway through the first half but keeper Madison North of Flagler was able to make the save. Flagler (7-2-1, 3-2-0) was tested against by a
Claire Maple shot on goal, but again North was able to make the save. To start the second half, the Saints created space for Brin Wexler to score off a pass by Hannah Dolores. The Mocs had a penalty opportunity in the 72
nd minute but North was able to make the stop on the
Rachel Peck kick. Flagler held on defensively to win 1-0 at the end of regulation.

- The Saints held an advantage in shots (17-to-8) and in corner kicks (8-to-5).
- The Mocs had two shots on goal by Maple and Volk in the first half
- Staten had five saves in the first half and finished with eight
- Flagler scored in the 52nd minute by Brin Wexler and assisted by Hannah Dolores
- Peck had a penalty kick opportunity, but just saved by North to keep the Saints lead
- A goalkeeper sub found Grace Stec to add a save on the day to give Florida Southern the chance
