TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's swimming team took on Division I opponent Florida State University on Saturday.
The Mocs lost in the team score, 196-65, but several student-athletes were able to podium in their respective events and put on a great show against a very good Division I swim team. This marks the first loss for the men's team against a team this season.
HOW IT HAPPENED
- Elder Oliveira had a third place finish in the 1000 yard freestyle with a great time of 9:31.92
- A seldom seen tie for third place for Milosz Mencel in the 200 yard freestyle
- The first event win for FSC came in the 100 yard back with Brandon Dyck edging out FSU opponents. Dyck finished second in the 200 yard back
- Last week's Male Swimmer of the Week, Ludovico Viberti, had a first place finish in the 200 yard breaststroke, and a second place finish in the 100 yard breaststroke
- Miguel Bernotti had a third place finish in the 200 yard fly, while Ludwig Mueller finished second in the 200 yard breaststroke behind Viberti

- The Mocs had two event wins against FSU with fast times by Viberti and Dyck

The Mocs will have their first home meet of the season to take on Indian River State College on Friday, November 5
th at Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool, set for a 1:00 PM start.
