Gohier Collects Season-High In Saves; Men's Soccer Falls To No. 21 Lynn

LAKELAND, FLA. – The Florida Southern College men's soccer program dropped a very physical match to No. 21 Lynn University on Sunday night, 1-0, in a non-conference match-up at Moccasin Field. The Fighting Knights currently hold a 2-1-0 record, while the Mocs drop to 1-2-2 on the year.

HOW IT HAPPENED
  • The first half was rather uneventful for both sides. FSC and Lynn combined for a total of 13 shots with only one shot on goal for the Mocs.
  • Graduate midfielder Edu Capote was the only player for FSC that was able to get a shot on goal with three as the first one came within the sixth minute of play.
  • The Fighting Knights tried to put a goal on the board first, but a diving play from senior keeper Mars Gohier sent the game into the second half scoreless.
  • Later in the second period, the tide turned. At 71:59, Lynn finally converted. A beautiful pass into the center of the box came from Sinisa Sprecakovic to set up Kyle Patton. Gohier came out and partially made the save, but the ball's momentum carried the ball over the goal line.
  • In the 82nd minute, Capote had a golden opportunity, but a strong save kept the score at 1-0.
INSIDE THE NUMBERS
