LAKELAND, Fl. – Florida Southern College hosted the 2021 Intercollegiate Tennis Association South Regional Championships September 24

th with 17 total teams represented in the tournament.
The ITA South Regional had many ranked teams in one of the most difficult tournaments in collegiate tennis over the course of four days with several Moccasins that represented the college. Senior
Mathilda Vidgren lost her first match in the round of 64, but went on to enter the consolation singles final with straight set wins over Ericka Chavarria from Eckerd, Polina Vlasova from Rollins, and Sofia Navarro with Auburn Montgomery. The women's consolation singles final was unplayed.
Laura Vetter also had a great showing with consolation singles wins against Emily Hafner (Montevallo) and Ana Villalvazo (Auburn Montgomery). Vetter entered the consolation semifinals to face West Alabama's Valeria Arevalo, but lost 6-1, 6-4 to end the tournament.
Minnie Kim made it to the consolation quarterfinals with wins over Eva Dirr (Montevallo), Kylie Misdorp (Eckerd), but lost to Navarro before she faced Vidgren for the semifinals.
Flor Salerno won her play-in match against Julia Mautner in three sets, before losing a close tie-breaker set in the round of 64 against Lynn's Karyna Bihel.
Two pairings represented the Mocs in women's doubles with Vidgren and Vetter winning their first match in the round of 32, taking a loss from Engelmann and Lewuers from Barry. Kim and Salerno faced two opponents but unable to advance.
