WEST PALM BEACH, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's soccer team win their fourth-straight game with a 3-2 thriller against Palm Beach Atlantic University at the PBA Soccer/Lacrosse Field Saturday night.
The Mocs (8-1-3, 4-1-1 SSC) scored two goals early, but it was in the final three minutes that
Caitlyn Lowery hit the game-winner to remain undefeated on the road. The Sailfish (1-5-3, 0-2-2 SSC) scored two unanswered goals in the final 15 minutes but were unable to hold on for the tie as the Mocs won 3-2.
The first half was a defensive battle between the two teams with only six shots combined in the first 45 minutes. Florida Southern led with five shots, the first score of the game coming in the 18
th minute with an inside pass by

Angelina Coelho, her fifth of the season.
The Sailfish had two saves in the first half as many of the shots were on goal by the Mocs. The second half was busy for both teams as they fought for a conference win. Florida Southern scored their second goal of the game in the opening minutes of the second half after Coelho hit an inside pass to
Lindsey Meyer for a goal and a 2-0 Moccasin lead.

Jenny Staten was busy with a flurry of shots by the Sailfish, and Staten finished three saves, all in the second half. With less than 15 minutes remaining, PBA scored a goal by Sydney Furrow to be down by one late in the game. In the final five minutes of the game, the Sailfish tied the game at two, this time a goal by Kendall Furrow.
Unwilling to leave West Palm Beach with a tie, the Mocs hit an offensive push and with just over two minutes left in the game, Meyer found C. Lowery for the game-winner, her eighth goal of the season and fourth game-winner in 2022.
The eighth win of the season is the most since the 2017 season and the Mocs have the most goals scored (33) through 12 games since the 2010 season when they scored 34 in 19 games.
The Mocs return home for a midweek conference matchup on Wednesday, Oct. 12
th against Eckerd College, set for a 7 p.m. start at Berend Field.
