  • No. 10 Florida Southern men hosted Lynn University in the last time out two weeks ago. The Mocs won all but one of the 14 events to beat Lynn 189-72. The first individual event of the day was the 1000 free which Keith Peristeridis took first, with teammate Thomas Wooldridge in second. For the 200 free, Milosz Mencel took first ahead of Niko Frese in a close second. Brandon Wilson had a pair of wins with the 100 and 200 backstroke, as William Eriksson took third in both of those events. The only event of the day for Lynn was a 100 breast win, as Nicko Peristeridis and Boris Mitev took second and third. Grad student Theo Peristeridis won the 100 and 200 fly with Tristan Clanton and Kyle Hopewell right behind for podium sweep. Matteo Zampese won the 50 free and 200 breast, before K. Peristeridis won his second event of the day in the 500 free. Wilson led the way for a team-high third event win in the 200 IM. With K. Peristeridis the sole Moccasin with a B standard time this season, look for several more Moccasins to post big times this weekend as preparation for conference and NCAA qualifications.
  • No. 16 Florida Southern women nearly took down its last opponent with a 140-122 team loss to then No. 16 Lynn University two weeks ago. Olivia Miles continued her great run with another event win the 1000 free, after winning in yesterday's meet. In the 200 free Erin McCann and Maja Eriksson finished second and third, as Elizabeth Sikes took third in the 100 back. Another second and third-place finish for the Mocs in the 100 breast as Emily Peck and Brooke Brennan took part. In the 50 free, Rachel Cunningham had a great job with a second-place finish, and Teagan Michalek and Anya Bogdanova took second and third in the 200 back. Another event win for the Mocs came in the 200 breast with Peck the winner, followed by a podium sweep by Eriksson, Miles and McCann in the 500 free. Peck continued her run with a win in the 200 IM as Florida Southern was second and third in both the 400 free relay and 200 medley relay.
  • No. 23 Florida Tech men host the Panther Invitational this weekend after its last meet was postponed. Last time out, FT men beat Lynn 166-96 on Oct. 21. Daniel Aizenberg won the 100 back, as Max Martino was first in the 50 free. In the 200 fly, Kyle Gibson won the 200 fly, and followed up with a 200 breast win for his second win of the meet. Martino joined Gibson as another Panther with two event wins, followed by two wins by Fonnotto. Other top performers included Josh Davis and Colin Harrison.
  • Florida Tech women lost its last meet, which was against top 25 Lynn women. Despite the loss, freshman Leah Fonnotto won her first collegiate home meet, with Kiera Ceely another first-time collegiate winner. Continuing with top freshman performances, Alex Knodel won the 200 IM as the women performed well in the relays.
  • HISTORY: The Mocs have performed very well historically in the Panther Invitational. Last year, Florida Southern had several swimmers with B standard times and some of the best times during the entire season. Known as a competitive meet over the course of three days, the invitational allows a conference or national championship schedule of several events over the course of a few days. This will be the last meet of the calendar year before the Mocs pick back up in January.
