LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's tennis team remain undefeated at home with a 6-1 win over Bates College Saturday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Mocs swept the Bobcats in the doubles competition, winning all three of their matches.
Laura Vetter and
Mathilda Vidgren were first finish in a 6-2 win over Bates. Late pushes by the Bobcats in the next two competitions was not enough as the pairing of
Minnie Kim and
Vivien Charvatova and team of
Kelly Klaren and
Maxima Ellenberg won 6-3 in their respective matches.
In singles competition, Ellenberg continued her winning ways with another singles match win in a 6-0, 6-2 decision.
Olivia Bryant and Vidgren each won their matches in a 6-1, 6-0 win over their Bobcats opponents. After a close first set, Kim won her second set for a flight win after a 6-4, 6-2 victory.
Florida Southern now improves to 2-2 overall and stays with a 1-2 SSC record ahead of their trip to Hilton Head. The Bobcats fall to 0-3 overall in their start of the spring 2022 season.
