LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis remains undefeated at home as they take down the University of Montevallo with a score of 5-2 Friday afternoon at Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Mocs (9-4, 1-3 SSC) fought for the doubles point win and held on for a great singles competition. The Falcons (3-7, 1-1 GSC) managed two flight wins in singles, but not enough as the Mocs win 5-2.
During doubles, the Mocs dropped the No. 3 flight first, but rallied for two flight wins in a row for the doubles point win.
Valentin Hertweck and
Chris Fok Kow, ranked No. 40 in doubles pairing, won in an exciting 7-5 score to seal the win as
Matteo Feggi and
Erik Nordblom won their flight as well.
In singles competition, No. 42 singles athlete Hertweck won in two sets with a score of 6-3, 6-2 as did Fok Kow in 6-0, 6-1. A tough battle for
Elliott Altman in three sets, but unable to get the win as the Falcons get their first flight win and another on #6 in a 7-5, 7-5 score against
Nicholas Mora. Feggi outlasted his opponent in three sets as Nordblom rounded out the Moccasin wins.

The Mocs will take the week to practice and head to Palm Beach Atlantic for an SSC matchup next Saturday, April 2
nd, set for a 2:30 pm start.
