LAKELAND, Fla. - Florida Southern women's tennis team unable to come out with a win against another ranked opponent in a 7-0 loss against No. 7 Saint Leo University Thursday afternoon at the Saint Leo Tennis Center.

The Mocs, ranked 39th in the latest ITA poll, dropped the doubles point, with scores 4-6 on court one (Vidgren and Vetter), 1-6 on court two (Kim and Charvatova), and shut out 0-6 on court three (Salerno and Ellenberg).

The first two singles matches to finish were on courts one and two, with both
Laura Vetter and
Mathilda Vidgren falling to their opponents in two sets.
Isabella Bolivar won the first set of her match to give the Mocs one of only three set wins on the day. Bolivar fell in the third set by a score of 3-6 to secure the win for the Lions. The other two set wins came from
Flor Salerno and
Olivia Bryant. Salerno took the first set in tie break with a score of 7-1. Bryant rallied back after a 4-6 loss in her first set to win her second set 6-2. She could not quite hold on to give the Mocs a point on the day as she fell in the third set 6-7 in a tie break with a score of 4-7.

Following the 7-0 loss, the Mocs fell to 9-6 on the season and 1-4 in conference play.

The Mocs will continue their conference schedule on the road this weekend, facing off against Palm Beach Atlantic on Saturday afternoon and the top ranked Barry Buccaneers on Sunday morning.
