LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's tennis win streak extended to six straight games after a 6-1 win over Northwood University Tuesday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Mocs (7-2, 1-2 SSC) won the doubles point and all but one of the singles flights. The Wolves (6-5, 0-0 GLIAC) managed a win in the first singles flight but unable to tally any more points.
The doubles team of
Laura Vetter and
Mathilda Vidgren won their set 6-2 before
Minnie Kim and
Vivien Charvatova won their set. The third doubles flight went unfinished to continue play before pending weather concerns.
Flor Salerno led the Mocs in their first singles flight win of the day in a 7-5, 6-0 win before Kim added another point for the Mocs in a strong second set and win by retirement. The match-deciding point went to
Olivia Bryant who won her flight 6-0, 6-0, not giving Northwood a single point in the #6 court.
Isabella Bolivar and
Maxima Ellenberg added the fifth and sixth point of the day
