HILTON HEAD, SC – The Florida Southern women's tennis return from their spring break trip to Hilton Head undefeated after a 5-2 win over Ashland University Monday morning.
The Mocs (6-2, 1-2 SSC) extended their win streak to five straight games winning the doubles point and four of the singles competitions. The Eagles (1-4) lost the match but came out with two singles flight wins.
Emphasis on the doubles point continued as the Mocs won each of the three doubles flights. Pairing of
Flor Salerno and
Maxima Ellenberg won 6-1 along with
Kelly Klaren and
Eve Robinson in a 6-1 decision.
Karina Bazilevych teamed with
Mallory Kelly for a 6-4 win and doubles point to the Mocs.
In singles competition, the Mocs were led by Ellenberg and Klaren who won their flights in quick two-set decisions.
Vivien Charvatova won her singles flight in a 6-0, 6-2 win as the match-deciding win. Bazilevych finished the Moccasin points with a 6-0, 6-1 win. Robinson had a lengthy bout with her Ashland opponent but lost in a three-set tiebreaker.
