LAKELAND, Fla. – Fighting through nearly two hours of weather delays, the Florida Southern College baseball team takes down No. 11 Seton Hill in a 4-3 win Wednesday night at Historic Henley Field. The win marked 250 career wins for head coach

The Mocs (11-9, 4-2 SSC) took a slight lead in the bottom of the second before five scoreless innings. The Griffins (6-3, 0-0 PSAC) evened the score in the top of the eighth, but the Mocs responded with a score of their own in the bottom of the eighth and 4-3 win.

Duncan Hunter was up to bat next and smashed a two-run homer to left center for the Moccasin lead. The home run extended Hunter's hit streak to 18 games and his sixth home run of the season.
In the top of the second, Seton Hill answered with a solo homer by Garth to even the score 1-1 into the bottom of the second. Undeterred, the Mocs led off with a double by
Jared DeSantolo who made his way home to retake the lead 3-2 into the third inning. The Mocs had great pitching by
Mitchell LeRoy and
Collin Camarigg to keep the Griffins scoreless. The pitchers combined for six strikeouts through seven innings.
To start the eighth inning, the Griffins tallied an early single and through a series of fielder's choice hits, Seton Hill once again tied the game 3-3 into the bottom of the eighth. Hunter led off the eighth with another hit and DeSantolo with an intentional walk as the Mocs had two on and two outs.
Tor Sehnert tallied what would be the game-winning hit, on an RBI single to left center and 4-3 lead into the last inning.
Florida Southern brought in
Ryan Langford to handle the ninth inning as he struck out two batters and forced the pop up and 4-3 final game for the Mocs.
Dawson Lane entered the game in the eighth and earned the win as Langford earned his third save of the season. The Mocs had the slight advantage in hits, eight-to-seven, as the Griffins left seven on base throughout the game.
UP NEXT
The Mocs travel to Alabama to face the University of Alabama in Huntsville for a three-game series against the Chargers. Game one will begin on Friday at 3 p.m.
