Mocs Fall to No. 1 Barry on the Road

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. - Florida Southern women's tennis team fell to the top ranked Barry University Buccaneers on Sunday morning with a 4-0 loss at the Buccaneer Tennis Center. 
 
The 39th ranked Mocs team put up a fight in the double's point, but ended up falling to two top-ten ranked doubles pairings. Laura Vetter and Mathilda Vidgren fell to the No. 6 ranked pairing of Madeline Bosnjak and Deniz Khazan by a score of 3-6. Minnie Kim and Flor Salerno fell to the no. 2 ranked pairing of Kim Moosbacher and Daniela Farfan by a score of 2-6. Maxima Ellenberg and Vivien Charvatova's doubles match went unfinished as the Bucs had already won the doubles point. 
 
Four of the six Bucs singles players are nationally ranked, including the number one overall Khazan who faced off against the Mocs' Vetter. Charvatova fell to No. 41 Clara Versier in two sets with scores 2-6 and 1-6. The match was clinched for the Bucs in four as Isabella Bolivar was able to put up five games against Bosnjack, but it was not enough as she fell 2-6 and 3-6. 
 
The three other singles matches by Vidgren, Olivia Bryant, and Ellenberg went unfinished as the Bucs won the match 4-0. 
 
Following the 4-0 loss, the Mocs fell to 9-7 on the season and 1-5 in conference play. 
 
UP NEXT
The Mocs return home this week to the Wynee Warden Tennis center to celebrate senior day with their match against Embry-Riddle. The match is set to start at 3:00 PM on Wednesday afternoon.
