LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis home win streak comes to an end as they lose 5-2 against No. 4 Embry-Riddle Saturday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Mocs (10-5, 2-4 SSC) were unable to get the doubles point and tallied two total flight wins in the loss. The Eagles (13-3, 4-1 SSC) took the doubles point with a clean sweep and tallied enough flight wins for the 5-2 win over the Mocs.
Florida Southern had a close flight in doubles #1 with
Oscar Sohl and
Erik Nordblom taking on Couder and Paschal, but ultimately lose 7-6. The Eagles took the other two flights with a 6-4 and 6-2 win.
In singles competition, the Mocs fought for two hard earned wins by
Chris Fok Kow and Nordblom. Fok Kow won his flight in a 6-4, 6-4 decision as Nordblom outlasted his Embry-Riddle opponent in three sets for the flight win and two points for the Mocs. The Eagles finished the win with flight victories in four other courts and 5-2 win.
