LAKELAND, Fla. – First-year Director of Esports, Adam Antor was named the 2021-22 National Association of Esports Coaches & Directors (NAECAD) Coach of the Year after guiding the Moccasins to a 38-23 record across all titles, including a run to the Peach Belt Conference finals in League of Legends.
"I am honored to be named the NAECAD Coach of the Year," Adam Antor, FSC Director of ESports commented. "We had a fantastic year, and this award is only possible due to the dedication and performance of our student-athletes."
Under Antor's guidance in his first year, the Mocs went undefeated in the Blue Division while Dylan Parramore was named 2022 PBC League of Legends Player of the Year and Nicholas Dragowski the 2022 PBA LoL Rookie of the Year.
At the PBC tournament for League of Legends, Florida Southern defeated Montevallo 2-0 in the opening battle before following that up with a 2-1 win over USC-Aiken to earn a bid to the title match. FSC went toe-to-toe with Converse, the only other undefeated team where the Valkyries took home the 2022 PBC title with a 3-0 victory.
Aside from League of Legends, Florida Southern fields a team in Overwatch and Rocket League. Antor continues to be a resource for high schools and colleges exploring esports, assisting numerous programs in the early stages of their development. Antor, who was selected as a Collegiate Ambassador of the Year Finalist at the Esports Awards in the fall of 2021, hosts a weekly online talk show about collegiate ESports with the objective to educate other coaches and directors on how to be better administrators for their programs.
