LAKELAND, Fla. - The Florida Southern College softball team captured two wins during its midweek contest as they defeated Post University 8-0 in five innings to open up the doubleheader before walking off in game two 6-5 on an RBI single from freshman
Kelly Keating.
With the sweep, the Moccasins improve to 13-10 on the year while the Eagles are continuing to look for their first win with a 0-10 record.
FLORIDA SOUTHERN 8, POST 0
FSC opened up the doubleheader with heavy bats, scoring three runs in the first inning as senior
Kelsey Peck got it started with a single to left field. A Post error scored the Mocs first run to make it 1-0.

Taylor Thomas, increasing the Florida Southern lead and making it 3-0.
In the next two innings, the Mocs scored an additional run in each to go up to a 5-0 lead giving them a cushion in the final stretch.
In what ended up being the final inning, Florida Southern went on a run starting with another Peck single to get runners on base. Freshman
Kenleigh Smith advanced Peck to put her into scoring position. Junior
Skyler Ralstin singled through the right side for an RBI single, increasing the FSC lead to 6-0. Thomas doubled to left center scoring the additional two runs to finish the game after five innings with an 8-0 win.
Conner and Peck led the way for FSC as Conner went a perfect 3-for-3 with two RBIs and Peck was 2-for-2 with two runs scored. Thomas brought in three runners while going 2-for-4. Junior
Ashley Blessin earned her fifth win in the circle pitching five complete innings allowing no runs on six hits while striking out three strikeouts.
FLORIDA SOUTHERN 6, POST 5
Game two started out the same as the Mocs scored on a sac fly from Ralstin to put FSC up with another 1-0 lead. Post scored its first two runs of the day and took a 2-1 lead until the top of the third when they increased their lead to a 3-1.
The Eagles kept the lead until the bottom of the fifth, as FSC closed the gap to 3-2 with an RBI single. With two outs, FSC scored on a RBI single to right center from Colgate taking a 4-3 lead. In the bottom of the sixth, Mocs increased their lead to 5-3 with back-to-back.
Post did not give up, tying it up in the final inning to make it 5-5. In the bottom of the seventh, Thomas singled to third base and moved around the basepaths, eventually scoring on a walk off base knock from Keating to end the game 6-5.
Colgate led the way going 3-for-3 with two RBIs followed by Peck and Ralstin both going 2-for-3 and Ralstin had two RBIs.
Kaylee Cowart came in to pitch relief earning her first win pitching 0.2 innings with one strikeout.
Kayla Hickey pitched four complete innings striking out four batters.

The Mocs are back on Chris Bellotto Field tomorrow March 15, for a doubleheader against non-conference opponent Hillsdale. The first pitch is set for 5:00 p.m.
