LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 29 Florida Southern College women's tennis team earned their 10
th win of the season after a 7-0 shutout of Bentley University Thursday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Mocs (10-2, 2-2 SSC) have won the last 10 matches in a row after today's win, the highest win streak for the program since 2013 when FSC won 13 in a row to end the season. The Falcons fall to 1-4 in the spring season, ending their spring break trip to Florida.
Florida Southern won every court in the match, beginning with wins on the three doubles courts to start the day.
Neli Sunjic and
Vivien Charvatova paired for a 6-3 win at #1 court, and
Kelly Klaren and
Kennedi Brown took on the #2 position with a 6-1 win. On court three today,
Olivia Bryant and
Isabella Bolivar won 6-0 in a doubles sweep.
In singles,
Laura Vetter handled the #1 court with a 6-0, 6-0 victory, as did the next three courts with the same score. Bryant shut out her Bentley opponent at #2 court, with Bolivar and Brown tallying wins at #3 and #4 respectively. Klaren won 6-1, 6-0 over the Falcons on the #5 court and
Karina Bazilevych a 6-1, 6-1 win at the #6 spot.
The Mocs will turn their attention to No. 36 University of Nebraska at Kearney in a home match tomorrow, set for a 3 p.m. start at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
