LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis team won its third straight match with a 6-1 win over Findlay Thursday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Mocs, who are registering votes in the latest ITA poll, improved to 6-3 overall with the win as the visiting Oilers fall to 4-5 overall.
FSC had another match with a doubles point win. Mocs secured the point with court wins by
Chris Fok Kow and
Matteo Feggi and a pairing of
Mario Garoz and
Ryan Rajakar. Court #1 had a 6-3 win for the Mocs with court #3 to the Oilers. Garoz and Rajakar won the point with a 7-5 score and a great start for the Mocs.
For consecutive matches, Florida Southern won all but one of the singles courts, with each of the courts finished in two sets. Fok Kow won #1 court 6-2, 6-3, as did
Elliott Altman 6-3, 6-2. John Gidfjord had another great flight at #5 with a 6-3, 6-1 win with Garoz and
Alex Fascio the remaining Moccasin winners.
Inaki Braun Simo was unable to take his court with a 6-2, 6-0 loss.
Mocs will take on Michigan Technological University at home on Tuesday, March 7, set for a 12 p.m. start at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
