HILTON HEAD, S.C. – The Florida Southern College women's tennis team remained undefeated at Hilton ahead with a 7-0 win over Barton College Sunday afternoon.
The Mocs improve to 6-2 overall, winning their sixth straight match. The Bulldogs fell to 1-6 overall and a loss in their opening match at Hilton Head.
Florida Southern won each of the doubles court matches, including a 6-0 court #2 win by
Vivien Charvatova and
Laia Pasini. Karyna Bazilevych and
Olivia Bryant took on #3 court and ended with a 6-1 win. A battle at #1 went to the Mocs as
Maxima Ellenberg and
Laura Vetter outlasted the Bulldogs 7-6 (7-3) and secured a doubles point for Florida Southern.
FSC continued its success by winning singles in a dominating performance by the Mocs. Pasini returned to a win at #1 court with a 6-2, 6-0 score, as did Bryant with a shutout 6-0, 6-0 win on the #2 court. Ellenberg won 6-1, 6-0 in her flight and FSC match win.
On court #4, Vetter won 6-2, 6-2 and
Jolie Miller had another collegiate with 6-2, 6-0 in the #6 position. At the #5 spot,
Isabella Bolivar won her first set 6-4 but had a set two loss 0-6. In a tiebreak, Bolivar ended with a 10-7 win in the third and a shutout victory for the Mocs.
