WINTER PARK, Fla. - The Florida Southern College softball team concluded its 2023 season at Rollins College with a 13-0 loss in 5 innings to fall in the final Sunshine State Conference series 2-1.
With the loss, the Moccasins finished the season 25-25 overall and 12-18 in the SSC. The Tars improved to 31-15 on the year and 15-12 in conference play.
Junior
Kiki Morris hit a single down the left field line in the top of the first to get the game going for the Mocs but was stranded in scoring position at second base.
Rollins hit a solo home run to get on the board first in the bottom of the first and take a 1-0 lead for FSC. The Tars strong hitting continued into the bottom of the second scoring seven runs to increase their lead to 8-0.
In the top of the third, Morris doubled to left field advancing a runner to third and putting two runners in scoring position for the Mocs, but both were left stranded to end the inning with nothing coming home.
The Tars hot hitting continued, scoring an additional two runs in the third before a 3-run home run in the fourth to conclude the game 13-0.
Morris had a perfect game from the plate going 2-for-2.
Florida Southern finishes its 2023 season after the conclusion of the Rollins series as senior
Kelsey Peck had a historic season hitting 11 home runs in a season to tie the program record and 12 homers in her career as a Moc.
On the season, FSC was led by junior
Skyler Ralstin batting a .393 batting average with 53 hits, seven doubles, two triples, and one homer while bringing in 25 runners. Morris was right behind Ralstin batting .389 with 51 hits, nine doubles, one triple, one homer, and 19 RBIs.
Sophomore
Destiny Colgate finished the season 44-for-117 with 21 RBIs and six doubles earning SSC Player of the Week for the first time in her career. Junior
Taylor Thomas was just one of two players to play in every game as a Moc with the most hits at 54, hitting three homers, 12 doubles, and bringing in 31 runners.

Mel Rogers led the way finishing with a 12-3 record pitching in 12 complete games and striking out 52 batters. Junior
Ashley Blessin led FSC with strikeouts with 57 pitching in 20 games to finish with a 3.51 ERA.
