WINTER PARK, Fla. – The No. 14 Florida Southern College men's swimming team lost its conference dual meet against No. 24 Rollins College Friday afternoon at the Alfond Swimming Pool.
The Mocs had four event wins but ultimately lost to the Tars by a team score of 158-101.
John Zeiger,
Brandon Wilson, and
Kyle Micallef each had an individual event win in the meet.
Florida Southern opened its day with the 400 medley relay, which a team of Wilson
, Ludwig Mueller, Nino Viallon, and Micallef finished second in 3:22.95. FSC then took first and second in the 1000 free as
Peter Csicsaky and
Thomas Wooldridge had top times. Zeiger had the best time in the 200 free after finishing third in 1:42.93
The first event win of the day for FSC was in the 100 back as Wilson finished in 50.41 and Viallon took third in 52.05. The Mocs then finished second and third in the 100 breast as
Travis Oleson and
Nicko Peristeridis had podium finishes.
Tristan Clanton finished third in the 200 fly before another top finish in the 50 free by Micallef (20.43). Zeiger then finished first in the 100 free (47.17).
Other podium finishes included Wilson in the 200 back (1:52.69 for second), Peristeridis in the 200 breast (2:06.62 for third), Csicsaky and
Clyde Crouse in the 500 free (second and third), and Viallon in the 100 fly (second). The last individual event of the day was the 400 IM which Peristeridis (4:13.00) and
Walter Christman (4:13.26) finished second and third respectively. Micallef, Zeiger, Viallon, and Wilson finished second in the final event, the 400 free relay, with a time of 3:06.35.
The Mocs will return to Lakeland to host its last home meet of the season against Barry University tomorrow, Jan. 13, at 2:30 p.m. A Senior Day ceremony will take place before the start of the meet and a Faculty Appreciation Recognition during one of the intermission breaks.
