BOCA RATON, Fla. – The No. 14 Florida Southern College men's swimming team ended the regular season with a dual meet win over conference foe Lynn University on Saturday afternoon at the McCusker Pool Complex.
The Moccasins won many of the individual events with a team win of 168-94 over the Fighting Knights. FSC was led by
Nicko Peristeridis, Nino Viallon, John Zeiger, and
Brandon Wilson, each with two event wins.
The opening event was a win for the Moccasins in the 400 medley relay, with the next event a podium majority in the 1000 free behind
Thomas Wooldridge (second) and
Peter Csicsaky (third). Zeiger won his first event with a win in the 200 free (1:43.13) and
Carson Blair in third. Wilson responded with his first event win in the 100 back (51.28) ahead of teammate
William Eriksson in third. The next podium finish was Persiteridis in the 100 breast.
In the 200 fly, Viallon won in 1:55.30 with
Tristan Clanton in third in 1:58.96.
Kyle Micallef then took the top time in the 50 free (21.24) as Zeiger won his second event in the 100 free (46.91). Wilson again dominated the backstroke with a win in the 200 back (1:55.30) ahead of Eriksson, again in second. Peristeridis won his first event in the 200 breast and went on to win the 400 IM as the final individual event of the day. The last event winners included Csicsaky in the 500 free and Viallon in the 100 fly. FSC won the final event, the 200 free relay in 1:23.86.
The Mocs turn their attention to the Sunshine State Conference Championships on Feb. 14-18 at the Fast Center in Ocala, Fla.
