Florida Southern Men's Soccer Fall on the Road to Nova Southeastern

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. - The Florida Southern College men's soccer team traveled south to face Nova Southeastern University in another Sunshine State Conference match up falling to NSU 3-0 at the NSU Soccer Stadium.

The Moccasins (3-5-3, 1-5-1 SSC) struggled against the Sharks (6-2-2, 5-1-1 SSC) having 13 shots while NSU had 19 with four shots being on goal.

Both teams came out aggressive early on as FSC had shots from Sonny Albert, Felix Tonne, Sonny Albert, and Dakota Henry in the first 15 minutes of action but could not find the back of the Sharks net.

Nova Southeastern made quick work after seeing Florida Southern's pressure following with four shots of their own, the final one finding the back of the Mocs net in the 26th minute for an early 1-0 lead.

Henry answered in the following minute with a shot that went just left and back-to-back offside calls would leave Florida Southern scoreless heading into the locker room for halftime.

The second half the Mocs defense had to fight off the Sharks, not allowing another goal to cross into Moccasin territory. Darcy Moffat and Sander Trevor tried to put shots up both just missing leaving the game at 1-0 in favor of the Sharks.

It was all FSC as Trevor, Eric Damore, and Nyles Lockridge all took their try at finding the back of the Sharks net as nothing continued to fall for the Mocs. In the 68th minute Nova Southeastern went on another four shot rally followed by another Tonne shot that just missed. In the 82nd minute the Sharks found the back of the net for another goal to increase the lead to 2-0.

With time dwindling down, Nova added an insurance goal coming in the 89th minute which would seal the fate for Florida Southern falling 3-0 on the road to Nova Southeastern in SSC action.

Florida Southern returns home for the final time this season as they host Embry-Riddle on Berend Field. The Moccasins will honor the departing seniors prior to kickoff at 7:00 p.m.
