Mocs Down Panthers 4-0 in Orlando

FSC clinched the match in four at the neutral-site matchup

ORLANDO, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis team won its Wednesday afternoon neutral-site match against Davenport University at the USTA Campus in Orlando.

The Mocs (4-3, 1-1 SSC) won 4-0 as the team played to clinch the match with a busy week of tennis. The Panthers (7-7, 0-0 GLIAC) managed a couple of set wins in singles but ultimately not fast enough as FSC won three courts for the match victory.

In doubles, the #1 court was again Chris Fok Kow and Mario Garoz, who won their flight with a 6-4 score. At #3, Matteo Feggi and Edoardo Melindo won 6-0 for their Panthers pairing. The #2 court of Ryan Rajakar and George Russell went unfinished at a 4-4 score as the Mocs secured their doubles point.

For singles competition, Garoz continued his win streak with a 6-0, 6-2 win at the #3 court for five straight singles wins. At the No. 5 court, Bosko Boskovic won with a 6-2, 6-0 score for the third team point and the match clincher went to Matthew Hewitt at the #4 court with a 7-5, 6-0 score. Each of Russell's, Fok Kow's, and Elliott Altman's courts went unfinished.

The Mocs will return to Lakeland to host Michigan Tech tomorrow, Feb. 29, set for a 3 p.m. start at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
