LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's and women's swimming team concluded the 2024-2025 regular-season with a dual meet win over Rollins College on Friday afternoon at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool.
Prior to the meet, the Moccasins, honored the departing veterans and finished their home campaign with a win over the Tars. The #24 Women finished with a 172-89 in team scoring, with several top finishers for FSC. The #20 men won 170-92 with 11 event wins.
The dual meet opened with the 400 medley relay as a team of
Zoë Celi, Alexa Paredes, Elizabeth Sikes, and
Sam Hunter won with a time of 3:52.58.
Olivia Miles then won the 1000 free in 10:33.08, followed by
Anya Bogdanova at 10.34.99. In the 200 free,
Ainsley Bennett won in 1:56.68, continuing the winning streak for FSC as
Alizee Pelletier captured the win in the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:03.79. The Mocs had a sweep of the 50 free as Hunter won in 23.56, with
Ana Sales in second with 23.99 time.
Hunter and Sales continued to dominate in the freestyle, capturing first and second once again as Hunter posted a 51.01 time while Sales' final was 53.00. Celi won her second event of the day with a 2:04.06 time in the 200 backstroke, followed by Pelletier with her second win in the 200 breaststroke, 2:19.07. Another win for Miles in the 500 free with a time of 5:10.91. In the last two final individual events of the day Paredes won the 100 breaststroke with a time of 1:08.63 and Bennett followed suit with a win in the 200 IM (2:10.57). The meet ended with the 200 free relay as Hunter, Sales, Reid, and Weitz won in 1:36.20
The men opened the meet with a win in the 400 medley as
Brandon Wilson,
Janek Barczyk,
Nino Viallon, and
Matheus Da Rocha all teamed up for a 3:12.60 final.
Next,
Daniel Cushing took home first in the 1000 free earning a time of 9:34.88. A 1-2 finish for FSC in the 200 free with
Peter Csicsaky (1:39.75) in first and
John Zeiger in second with a time of 1:40.67
In the 100 back, Wilson had the best time of 50.15, as we turned to the 100 breaststroke where the Mocs took the top three. Barcyzk won the 100 breast in 54.67 followed by
Cooper Krance (56.31) and
Travis Oleson (57.78) in second and third. Another 1-2 finish for the Mocs Da Rocha winning the 50 free in 20.38 and Viallon in second with a time of 20.42. Da Rocha then won the 100 free in 45.64.
For the 200 breast, Barczyk won in 2:06.73, followed by Csicsaky with another first place finish in the 500 free (4:30.62), just ahead of Cushing in second (4:37.99). In the 100 fly, Viallon won in 47.48, with
Michael Tretyakov in third in 51.66. The final event of the meet was the 200 free relay as a team of Wilson, Da Rocha, Neville, and Viallon finished first in 1:21.14.
The Mocs turn their attention to the Sunshine State Conference Championships on Feb. 12-16 at the Fast Center in Ocala, Fla.
