FRIPP ISLAND, S.C. - The No. 3 Florida Southern men's golf team finished the opening day of the Golfweek Fripp Island to Bermuda Invite in sixth at the Ocean Point Golf Links in Fripp Island, S.C. on Monday afternoon.
Freshman, Jack VanderSchuur, led the Mocs with a two-round, two-under performance. VanderSchuur carded nine birdies on the day, with six in round two.
Tyler Mistretta finished tied-19th, shooting one-over. Mistretta carded five birdies on the day.
Donte Groppuso competed in his first tournament of the year finishing tied-30th, with five birdies and two eagles. Both eagles were in the second round to help Groppuso to finish the day three-over.
Max Barile and Colton Swartz rounded out the Moccasin lineup, finishing tied-47th and tied-54th respectively.
Georgia Southwestern leads the field at 11-under, with Oscar Hummar leading the way with a two-round score eight-under.
