NORMAN, Okla. – The Florida Southern men's golf team has been recognized by PLATFORM Golf and the Golf Coaches Association of America (GCAA) with the 2025-26 Platform Golf Team Academic Award.
The Moccasins were one of only 26 NCAA Division II programs nationwide to earn Presidents Special Recognition, which is reserved for teams that achieve a cumulative team GPA of 3.5 or higher during the academic year.
A GCAA-record 331 schools across six divisions earned a PLATFORM Golf Team Academic Award. 155 schools received Presidents Special Recognition for having an average team GPA of 3.5 or above in 2025-26.
Maryland Eastern Shore (NCAA Division I), Virginia State (NCAA Division II), Bowdoin (NCAA Division III), Texas A&M-San Antonio (NAIA), Iowa Western (NJCAA Division I), Kirkwood (NJCAA Division II), and Maryland Eastern Shore (HBCU) were all named 2025-26 GCAA Academic National Champions for finishing with the top GPA in their respective divisions.
Florida Southern won the program's 14th NCAA Division II Men's Golf Championship on May 22 and their second consecutive SSC Championship. Their wins this season included the Shark Invitational, Saint Leo Invitational, Citrus Intercollegiate, and the season-opening Hurricane Invitational. The Mocs were led on the course by four PING All-American golfers, including NCAA Division II Jack Nicklaus Award presented by Workday recipient
