#12 Mocs Beat The River in Senior Day Dual Meet

LAKELAND, Fla. — No. 12 Florida Southern College men's swimming edged out Indian River State College in a closely contested meet, 114-91, on Senior Day at the Nina B. Hollis Wellness Center Pool.
 
Matheus Da Rocha led the way with victories in the 50-yard freestyle and as part of the winning 200-yard freestyle relay team.
 
Florida Southern showcased a strong performance with several top finishes. In the 200-yard freestyle, Daniel Meszaros secured a first-place finish, clocking in at 1:39.64, while Will Neville added a third-place finish with a time of 1:44.05. Da Rocha also delivered a standout performance, winning the 50-yard freestyle with a time of 20.38 and later the 100-yard freestyle in 44.70. The team further demonstrated its strength in relay events, capturing first place in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:21.62, anchored by Nino Viallon and Da Rocha.
 
Simeon Prosinski contributed significant points by winning the 200-yard individual medley in 1:51.57 and placing third in the 100-yard breaststroke at 57.17. Peter Csicsaky excelled in distance events, finishing second in the 1000-yard freestyle with a time of 9:43.93 and later claiming first in the 500-yard freestyle at 4:37.78. The Mocs combined individual wins and strong relay performances to establish a commanding presence throughout the competition.

- 200 Yard Medley Relay — Florida Southern A placed second with a time of 1:33.63; Florida Southern B finished fourth in 1:34.51; Florida Southern C took sixth in 1:39.52.
- 200 Yard Freestyle Relay — FSC A won with a time of 1:21.62; FSC B finished third in 1:26.90; FSC C secured fourth in 1:28.91.
 
Individual Swimming
- 1000 Yard Freestyle — Csicsaky took second, finishing in 9:43.93; Thomas Wooldridge placed third in 9:51.09.
- 200 Yard Freestyle — Meszaros claimed first with a time of 1:39.64; Neville finished third in 1:44.05.
- 50 Yard Freestyle — Da Rocha won in 20.38; Viallon placed second in 20.92.
- 100 Yard Freestyle — Da Rocha led the field, winning in 44.70; Meszaros took second, clocking 45.30.
- 500 Yard Freestyle — Csicsaky secured first in 4:37.78; Wooldridge placed third in 4:44.80.
 
In their next event, the Moccasins will participate in the Nova Southeastern Invite on December 18 at 10 a.m. ET in Fort Lauderdale, Fla.
