FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – The No. 12 Florida Southern College men's swimming team took part in the Shark Invitational on Thursday to wrap up the calendar year of meets.

The Mocs finished their only day of competition third out of seven teams, tallying 399 points. Indian River State College led the meet with 509 points, followed by Lynn University (429), FSC, Nova Southeastern University (383), Barry University (63), Ave Maria University (46), and Lake Superior State University (31).

The invite was split into two sessions, beginning with the 100 fly as
Nino Viallon was third in 47.61. In the 500 free,
Simeon Prosinski had the top FSC time of 4:31.75 for second place.
Cormac McKenney was 10
th overall in the 200 IM with 1:54.15, just ahead of teammate
Bennett Baer in 11
th in 1:54.54. In the 50 free,
Matheus Da Rocha was the top Moc with a time of 20.29 for fourth place. The final event of the first session was the 200 medley relay, as a team of
Michael Tretyakov, Prosinski, Viallon, and
Will Neville finished third in 1:29.48.

In the evening session, the Mocs started with the 400 IM, with Prosinski the top finisher in 3:55.41 and Baer in third overall in 4:03.98. In the 200 free,
Daniel Meszaros was third with a time of 1:38.98, followed by the 100 breaststroke as
Cooper Krance finished ninth in 56.75. Tretyakov was just outside the podium in the 100 back with a fourth-place finish of 49.08. The final event was the 200 free relay as Da Rocha, Viallon, Tretyakov, and Neville won with a time of 1:19.98.

The Mocs will return in the new year with a dual meet at Rollins College on Friday, Jan. 16, with a 3 p.m. start in Winter Park.
