OCALA, Fla. - The No. 24 Florida Southern College women's swimming team remains in fourth place overall after day four of the Sunshine State Conference Championships at the F.A.S.T. Center.
The Moccasins sit in fourth place with 290.5 points, with the University of Tampa leading with 714 points, followed by Nova Southeastern University (679 points), and Lynn University (458.5 points).
In prelims,
Olivia Miles made the B final of the 500 free with a time of 5:05.19, just ahead of
Ainsley L. Bennett with a time of 5:06.63. Also making the B final was
Emma Sammons with a time of 5:11.59.
Anya Bogdanova (20th) was just outside the B cut. In the 100 back,
Zoë Celi was 14th for the B final cut in a time of 57.97.
Kaitlyn Weitz (20th) and
Lauren Helminiak (25th) were just outside the B final cut.
The morning heats of the 100 breast featured
Alizee Pelletier with a seventh overall finish in 1:02.95.
Alexa Paredes (1:05.63) and
Phoebe Reid (1:07.25) made the B final. Representing the Mocs in the 200 fly,
Elizabeth Sikes was sixth overall in 2:04.55 to make the A final.
Vanda Voroshazy had a B final appearance after a time of 2:05.59 to wrap up the morning heats.
For the evening finals, Miles finished second in the B final and 10
th overall with a time of 5:01.74. Bennett finished 12
th with 5:03.45 and Sammons in 15
th with 5:10.33. In the 100 back Celi was 14
th overall with 57.78, followed by the 100 breast which Pelletier was eighth with 1:02.82, Paredes 14
th with 1:05.02, and Reid 16
th with 1:06.69. The final individual event was the 200 fly, in which Sikes was sixth with 2:03.78 and Voroshazy 10
th overall with 2:05.27.
The last event was the 200 free relay as a team of
Sam Hunter, Ana Sales, Weitz, and Reid finished fourth with a time of 1:34.32.
The Mocs will wrap up the 2025 conference championships with the following events: 100 free, 200 back, 200 breast, 1650 free, and the 400 free relay, all at the F.A.S.T. Center.
