LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 12 Florida Southern College baseball team completed its second consecutive series sweep of 2025 after an 8-5 win over the University of South Carolina Beaufort on Sunday afternoon at Henley Field.

The Moccasins (9-1) traded runs with USCB halfway through the game but eventually took and maintained the lead to seal the series sweep. The Sand Sharks (2-9) had a quick two runs in the first inning but were unable to match FSC's runs in the fifth inning of an 8-5 Moccasin win.

Florida Southern had a big day from
Mikey Scott, who went 3-for-4, including a homer, and two RBI. Scott was the only multi-hit Moccasin of the day, extending his hit streak to 10 games, all games in 2025.
Ahmad Fitts had another home run today, his second of the series and fifth of the week. Other Moccasin hits included
Jevin Relaford, Grant Thoroman, Noah Rabin, Chris McKenna, and
Brady Doorey. Thoroman's hit was a triple and McKenna's a double for extra-base hits. One of the best in the nation at stolen bases, FSC had nine today, bringing the season to a 50-for-55 mark in just 10 games.

Jordan Fox had the start for the Mocs today, going three innings with two hits and two runs. He finished with two strikeouts before being relieved by
Jack Owens. Owens went for two innings, allowing two runs with two strikeouts, before earning his first win of the season.
Aidan Kelley went the next two innings with three strikeouts, and
Tanner Rollyson went one inning with just one hit allowed.
Colby Rice had the ninth inning and allowed no hits and had two strikeouts to earn his fourth save of the year.

Matching FSC's nine hits on the day, the Sand Sharks had nine hits, led by Noah Campbell and Cooper McDaniel each with three hits. As a team, USCB had four stolen bases. Andrew Shanks started for USCB, going 3.2 innings, and was relieved by Cole Thomas, who was handed the loss. Devin Marlow and Andrew Kleppinger also pitched in relief.

The game opened with a two-run homer by the Sand Sharks for an early 2-0 lead, though FSC responded with a single run off a sac fly by Thoroman to cut into that lead. The Mocs first took the lead in the third after RBI singles by Scott and Rabin, 3-2. USCB responded with a two-RBIÂ double in the fourth to go up 4-3, before Fitts had a two-run homer in the fifth and an RBI single by Doorey to retake the lead, 6-4. The Sand Sharks had a single RBI in the sixth, 6-5 but were unable to score the rest of the game. Meanwhile, FSC added an RBI triple by Thoroman and a solo homer by Scott to take an 8-5 lead into the final frame. Rice entered and had one walk, but struck out two batters to earn his fourth save of 2025 and an 8-5 series sweep.

The Mocs will have their first road trip of the season, traveling to Melbourne next weekend for a three-game series against Florida Tech on Feb. 21-22 to open the SSC schedule.
