MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced that Florida Southern College's
Ahmad Fitts has been named the SSC Baseball Player of the Week.

Fitts had an incredible week, leading No. 12 Florida Southern to a 4-0 record, including a series sweep of USC Beaufort. Fitts had five home runs, including a grand slam, in his four games played this week, batting in 12 runs. The graduate student from Valrico, Fla. had a monster game against Eckerd in a midweek nonconference game, going 3-for-4, with all three hits home runs for six RBI. He had two solo homers and a grand slam in that game, the most home runs in a single game for FSC since 2021. In the lineup as DH for the weekend series against the Sand Sharks, Fitts went 4-of-11 with two homers and six RBI in his three games played. He also added two stolen bases in the series against USCB.

No. 12 Florida Southern will have its first road trip of the season as they head to Melbourne this weekend to face Florida Tech for the conference opener, beginning on Friday, Feb. 21 at 6 p.m. The Mocs will have a doubleheader on Saturday, Feb. 22, with a 1 p.m. game one start.
