LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 13 Florida Southern College men's tennis team earned its first win of the spring season with a 7-0 victory against Palm Beach Atlantic University on Tuesday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.

The Moccasins (1-2, 1-0 SSC) dominated the match, winning the doubles point and singles competition. The Sailfish (0-4, 0-2 SSC) managed one court win in doubles but were swept in singles to drop the conference contest.

In doubles, the Mocs had a great showing on the first two courts to snag the doubles point.
Chris Fok Kow and
Mario Garoz won 6-4 on court one, as did
George Russell and
Edoardo Melindo on court two. The final court went to the Sailfish 6-3 over
Sam Frizelle and
Onur Turgut, though FSC won the doubles point heading into singles.

For singles, Russell led with a big 6-1, 6-1 win on court five, his first win of the 2025 season. No. 38
Mario Garoz then beat his competition 6-4, 6-0 at the number 3 court. Fok Kow won a 6-0, 6-3 matchup at #2, followed by a 6-2, 6-2 win by Frizelle at the #1 court. Hewitt outlasted his opponent in the first set to win 7-5 and won set two 6-4 to win at the #4 court.
Bosko Boskovic had the final court of action, winning 7-5 in a lengthy first set. He dropped his next set 6-4, but won the tiebreak 10-8 to win his court and seal the match sweep.

The Mocs will have a quick turnaround as they are taking the short trip to the USTA Campus in Orlando to take on Bates College on Thursday, Feb. 20, set for a 3 p.m. start.
