FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – In the first road match of the season, the Florida Southern College women's tennis team lost 6-1 against No. 2 Nova Southeastern University

The Moccasins (0-2, 0-2 SSC) had one court win in singles from
Kennedi Brown but lost their other courts in the Sunshine State Conference contest. The Sharks (6-0, 3-0 SSC) remain undefeated after shutting down FSC at home, their sixth-straight win.
In doubles, the Mocs lost two courts to drop the doubles point.
Annika Berrendorf and
Jolie Miller had a win at the #3 court 6-4 as the only court win in doubles. At the #1 court, Brown and
Kelly Klaren lost 6-1, and a loss at the #2 court by a 6-3 score for
Ronja Scheuermann and
Emily Jennewein.

For singles, Brown had the only FSC court win after dropping the first set 6-2 and rallying to win 7-5 in the second set and 13-11 third set tiebreak for the win.
Olivia Bryant lost 6-2, 6-1 at #1, and
Beatriz Costa 6-2, 6-2 at the second court. At #3, Scheuermann lost 6-2, 6-4, followed by Jennewein a 6-2, 6-1 loss at #4. The final court was Berrendorf at #6, though they lost 6-2, 6-4.

The Mocs will have a neutral site matchup against Davenport University on Monday, Feb. 24, set for a 2 p.m. start at the USTA Campus in Orlando.Â
