Women's Tennis Defeat Golden Eagles In Morgan's Message Match

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College women's tennis team hosted the University of Charleston for a midweek match defeating the Golden Eagels 4-1 to come back in singles action.

Prior to the match, FSC opened with a recognition of student-athlete mental health honoring Morgan's Message, advocating for student-athlete mental health. 

The Moccasins (2-2) fell in doubles action as number one and two doubles won for the Golden Eagles (7-2) while FSC number three pair of Annika Berrendorf and Jolie Miller defeated their opponent 6-2.  

In singles action, FSC knew they had fight from falling in doubles, Emily Jennewein collected the first win to tie the game 1-1 with a  6-0, 6-4 straight sets win. Olivia Bryant followed in the top court defeating her opponent 6-2, 6-1 to go up 2-1.

Securing another point for FSC, was Beatriz Costa on the number two court fighting in a 7-6 (7-3), 6-1 tie to make it 3-1 looking to capture the win was Ronja Scheuermann winning by in three sets, 3-6, 6-0, 6-4 as the Mocs win 4-1.

Florida Southern will hit the road traveling up to Hilton Head, S.C. on the annual spring break trip. The matches and times will be announced at a later time, go to fscmocs.com for the latest information.
