LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 21 Florida Southern College men's tennis team won its second-straight match in back-to-back days with a 4-1 win against No. 41 Ferris State University on Monday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
The Moccasins (6-4, 1-2 SSC) won the doubles point and clinched the match with a strong singles showing to win the match 4-1. The Bulldogs (4-4, 0-0 GLIAC) had one singles court win before the match was called in favor of the Mocs.

In doubles, Florida Southern led off with a big 6-2 win by
George Russell and
Sam Frizelle at the #3 court. The doubles point was secured after
Chris Fok Kow and
Mario Garoz defeated the No. 34 pairing of Erik Kovacs and Kevin Kovacs by a 6-3 score.
Bosko Boskovic and
Gabriel Jornert's match at the #2 court went unfinished at a 3-4 score. Â

For singles, Garoz won the first singles court with a 6-1, 6-0 near shutout at the #3 court. Frizelle, ranked No. 41 in singles, faced off against No. 71 K. Kovacs, winning 6-2, 6-2 for a nationally ranked win.
Onur Turgut lost his match at the #6 court by a 6-4, 6-2 score, but Russell won 7-6, 7-5 to clinch the match for an FSC 4-1 win. Fok Kow's court went unfinished after splitting the first two sets, as was #5 court with Boskovic.

The Mocs will continue their homestand by hosting Emory University on Wednesday, March 12, set for a 3 p.m. start at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
