LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 29 Florida Southern College women's tennis team won its ninth-straight match with a 6-1 win against Slippery Rock University on Friday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.

The Moccasins (9-2, 0-2 SSC) won all but one singles court in a dominating win over The Rock. Slippery Rock fell to 3-6 overall, winning one doubles court and one singles court in the 6-1 match loss.

In doubles,
Ronja Scheuermann and
Emily Jennewein started with a 6-3 win at the #2 court, followed by a 6-4 loss at the #1 court between
Kennedi Brown/Kelly Klaren and Nicole Kempton/Alissia Kivi to even the score. The #3 court of
Jolie Miller and
Annika Berrendorf sealed the doubles point with a 6-2 win.

For singles,
Olivia Bryant, ranked No. 37 for ITA singles, had a big 6-2, 6-3 win over No. 28 Amaia Balaguer Brau in a national-ranking matchup at the #1 court. Klaren followed with a 6-2, 6-1 win at #6, as did Jennewein (6-3, 6-3) at the #5 court. Scheuermann and Berrendorf each won their courts, with the only court loss a close three-set loss at #2 from
Beatriz Costa.

The Mocs will resume conference play with a match against the University of Tampa on Friday, March 21, set for a 3 p.m. start at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
