LAKELAND, Fla. – Freshman
Carson Corona of the Florida Southern College men's lacrosse team brought home his first career Sunshine State Conference Defensive Player of the Week honor after causing a career-high seven turnovers in the upset victory over then-No. 13 Colorado Mesa.
The Syracuse, N.Y., product tallied game-high numbers in caused turnovers (7) and ground balls (6) in the win. With the play of Corona, FSC held CMU to five goals below its season-scoring average and handed the program its first loss of the season. His seven caused turnovers are tied for third all-time in SSC single-game performances.
Corona and the rest of the Moccasins will be back in action, Saturday, March 22 at 12:00 p.m. as they host No. 13 Saint Leo. The Lions will mark the fifth ranked-opponent the Mocs have faced this season.
