LAKELAND, Fla. – The No. 22 Florida Southern College men's tennis team lost 5-2 against No. 6 Barry University in its return to conference play on Saturday afternoon at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.

The Moccasins (11-5, 1-3 SSC) lost doubles and only had two singles court wins in the conference loss. The Buccaneers (10-2, 2-0 SSC) fended off a Moccasin comeback in singles to remain undefeated in conference play in the 5-2 win.

In doubles,
Chris Fok Kow and
Mario Garoz lost 7-5 against Adam Lynch and Leo Caill at the #1 court.
Bosko Boskovic and
Gabriel Jornert then lost 6-4 to the No. 26 pairing of Gabriele Felline and Tim Riedel at #2. The #3 court of
Sam Frizelle and
Matthew Hewitt lost 6-2 against Yan Kodjoed and Riccardo Trione for a Buccaneer sweep of doubles.

For singles, FSC had two court wins. Led by a three-set battle for Garoz at the #2 court. Garoz lost the first set and outlasted No. 21 Kodjoed in the second set and a third-set tiebreak to win the court. Fok Kow then had a third set rally to beat Riedel 3-6, 6-1, 7-6. At the #1 court, No. 52 Frizelle lost to Felline in two sets, followed by two set losses from Boskovic, Jornert, and Hewitt.

The Mocs will continue conference play next week when they travel to Lynn University on Sunday, March 30, in Boca Raton.
