MELBOURNE, Fla. – The Sunshine State Conference has announced Florida Southern College's
Mikey Scott as the SSC Player of the Week, the first for Scott this season.

Mikey Scott led the No. 13 Moccasins to a series win over No. 1 Tampa this weekend. The left fielder went 6-for-13 at the plate with five RBI and two homers. The grad student from Cutler Bay, Fla. had three stolen bases, and he finished with nine putouts and no errors in the outfield. He went 3-for-4 at the plate in the first game of the Saturday doubleheader, finishing with two RBI to help FSC to an 11-8 win to seal the series win after Friday night's 6-3 2 win.

Scott is the team leader in batting average through 31 games (4.14), also leading the team in hits with 53. He has tied
Grant Thoroman in RBI with 37, and among the best on the team in stolen bags (29). The outfielder leads the league in runs (41) and triples (4), while among the top five in several other categories, including seven home runs.

The Mocs will take on Nova Southeastern in a midweek non-conference game tomorrow, April 1, set for a 5 p.m. start at Henley Field.
