Three Moccasins Named to the 2025 Softball CSC Academic All-District Team

LAKELAND, Fla. -  The 2025 Academic All-District Softball Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, were released Tuesday afternoon with three members from Florida Southern College receiving recognition.
 
Kayla Hickey, Alissa Kessler, and Kate Mikle were each named to the All-District Team. 
 
This is Hickey's second consecutive CSC Academic All-District recognition, with the senior just completing her degree in accounting. Hickey has been named to the Sunshine State Conference Commissioner's Honor Roll for both the 2023 and 2024 seasons, along with 2025, which will come out later this summer. The 5-9 right-handed pitcher had 25 appearances in the circle for the Mocs, throwing 85.1 innings pitched with five complete games and 22 starts. The Altamonte Springs, Fla. native ended her career with a 4.41 ERA, allowing 55 earned runs while striking out 42 batters. 
 
In her first season with the Mocs, Kessler appeared in 40 games with 34 starts, splitting time between first base and the designated player. In the classroom, Kessler is working toward her degree in Communication: Advertising and Public Relations. The junior from Bradenton, Fla. had 19 hits, two doubles, a home run, and seven RBI's in 96 at-bats. The 5-10 first baseman had 145 putouts with seven assists, seeing action at the corner for 25 games during the 2025 season. 
 
Starting in all 48 games for the Mocs, Mikle led FSC with 15 RBIs with one homer, nine doubles, three triples, and 44 hits in 143 at-bats for a .308 batting average. The 5-8 sophomore is currently working toward a degree in accounting and has been named to the SSC Commissioner's honor roll for the 2024 season and will receive recognition when the 2025 honor roll is announced. In the field, the Ponte Vedra Beach, Fla. native had 72 putouts and three assists in the outfield.
