LAKELAND, Fla. – The National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) has announced the 2026 Preseason All-South Region Team, with Florida Southern College's Mikey Scott and Sachem Ramos selected to the regional honors.
 
The news is fresh after yesterday's announcement that Scott and Ramos were selected to the D2 Baseball Preseason All-American Team. This is the second-straight preseason regional honor for Scott after being named a preseason all-region selection in 2025 as a utility player from his time at Saint Leo University in the 2024 season. The Moccasins were selected No. 8 in the D2 Baseball Preseason Top 25 Poll last week and ranked No. 6 in today's American Baseball Coaches Association (ABCA) Top 25 Poll.
 
Scott had a stellar season with FSC in 2025, finishing with a .371 batting average and a team-high 83 hits. He tallied 56 RBI on the year, scored 71 runs, and went 51-62 in stolen bases. The graduate student from Cutler Bay, Fla., helped the Mocs to one of the best SB records in the nation, finishing with 230 as a team, surpassing the previous program record of 167 in a single season. The star fielder was named ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team, All-SSC First Team, and a preseason NCBWA All-South Team selection in addition to his Academic All-District honor.
 
Ramos led the Moccasins on the mound, with an 11-2 record as a starter in 2025. In his 16 starts, the righty had two complete games and 91 strikeouts over 98.2 innings pitched. He finished with a 4.29 ERA and a .253 opposing batting average. The Woodacre, Calif., native recorded the most wins by a Moc since 2018, when J.T. Hintzen went 14-0. Against Wayne State last season, the junior had a season-high 12 strikeouts, while adding six at-bats at the plate and a run scored.
 
The Mocs will take on the University of West Florida, ranked No. 14 in the ABCA poll, in a three-game series beginning on Friday, Jan. 30, at the Jim Spooner Field in Pensacola.
