Ramos and Scott NCBWA Preseason All-Americans

WINGATE, N.C. – Sachem Ramos and Mikey Scott of Florida Southern College baseball have earned another wave of preseason honors, selected to the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) Preseason All-American Teams.

Ramos was named to the NCBWA First Team as a starting pitcher, and Scott to the Third Team as an outfielder. Both FSC returners have received high accolades prior to the 2026 season, named as NCBWA All-South Region Team and D2 Baseball Preseason All-American winners. Florida Southern baseball has received an equal amount of high praise, ranking in the top 10 of the NCBWA, ABCA, and D2 Baseball Preseason Top 25 polls.

Scott had a stellar season with FSC in 2025, finishing with a .371 batting average and a team-high 83 hits. He tallied 56 RBI on the year, scored 71 runs, and went 51-62 in stolen bases. The graduate student from Cutler Bay, Fla., helped the Mocs to one of the best SB records in the nation, finishing with 230 as a team, surpassing the previous program record of 167 in a single season. The star fielder was named ABCA/Rawlings All-South Region First Team, All-SSC First Team, and a preseason NCBWA All-South Team selection in addition to his Academic All-District honor.

Ramos led the Moccasins on the mound, with an 11-2 record as a starter in 2025. In his 16 starts, the righty had two complete games and 91 strikeouts over 98.2 innings pitched. He finished with a 4.29 ERA and a .253 opposing batting average. The Woodacre, Calif., native recorded the most wins by a Moc since 2018, when J.T. Hintzen went 14-0. Against Wayne State last season, the junior had a season-high 12 strikeouts, while adding six at-bats at the plate and a run scored.

The Mocs will travel to Pensacola, Fla., for their season opener against the University of West Florida. The Argonauts rank inside the top 25 by the same baseball organizations. Due to weather, the three-game series has been adjusted with a doubleheader on Friday, Jan. 30, beginning at 2 p.m. ET, and a Sunday single game at 2 p.m. ET.
