LAKELAND, Fla. — Despite a strong second half, the Florida Southern College women's soccer (4-0-7, 1-0-4 SSC) played Rollins College (6-3-1, 3-1-1 SSC) to a 0-0 draw on Saturday night.

The Moccasins finished with a 16-4 shot advantage, including 12-1 in the second half, but could not convert during a 14-minute stretch of pressure from 66:50 to 80:30. Tonight's tie, the seventh of the season, set a new program record for most ties in a single season.

FSC generated the first four shots of the half but went to halftime tied 0-0 with the Tars. Emily Fowlkes put the first attempt wide right in the fifth minute, and Sierra Spirk followed with two chances before Isabella Payne sent a shot high in the 13th. Carly Brodsky kept the match scoreless with a save on Sophia Puccia's shot in the 16th minute, and Florida Southern played through a physical middle stretch that included multiple fouls and a yellow card. The Mocs earned corner kicks in the 28th and 36th minutes, while the Tars added late pressure with a blocked shot and a corner before the half closed at 0-0.

Florida Southern generated a 12-1 shot advantage and six of the seven corner kicks in the second half, but the match stayed scoreless. Earlier, the Mocs opened with corners at 45:37 and 46:09 before Spirk had a shot saved by Lauren Mehos, then added two more corners by 58:53 as the half grew more physical. Florida Southern pressed again from the 67th through the 81st minutes, with Ally Prentice, Hayden Johnston, Allie Draper, Frankie Gatien, Georgina Spraggon and Fowlkes all recording attempts; Mehos saved shots from Gatien, Spraggon and Fowlkes, and Gatien also hit the woodwork. The Mocs added late corners at 85:23 and 88:09, and Spirk and Johnston put shots toward goal in the final two minutes before the match finished in a 0-0 draw.
