LAKELAND, Fla. — No. 11 Florida Southern women's tennis (1-2) defeated Valdosta State University (1-3) 4-2 on Monday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Moccasins secured the doubles point with victories at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions and added singles wins on courts No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6.

Annika Berrendorf and
Jolie Miller secured an early win at No. 3 doubles by forfeit from the Blazers, while Emily
Jennewein and
Ronja Scheuermann clinched the point for Florida Southern by defeating Iv Castillo Hurtado and Charleigh Fay 7-6(7-5) at No. 2 doubles. The Blazers managed a win at No. 1 doubles, where Lena Beckx and Milica Prokic overcame
Kennedi Brown and
Josie Holderbach, 6-1.
In singles play, FSC extended its lead with wins at No. 1, No. 4, and No. 6 singles. Holderbach defeated Beckx 6-3, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Jennewein secured a 6-4, 6-4 victory over Fay at No. 4 singles. Miller finished with a win at No. 6 singles due to a forfeit.
The Blazers recorded a singles victory at No. 3 singles, with Castillo Hurtado defeating Berrendorf 6-1, 6-1. One match was left unfinished: Prokic versus Scheuermann at No. 2 singles, with a score of 6-4, 1-6, 2-1. The final court of Kitti Nemeth against
Diana Volkov at No. 5 singles, ended with a 6-3, 6-0 win for the Blazers to make a 4-2 Florida Southern victory.
