LAKELAND, Fla. — No. 14 Florida Southern College men's tennis (3-1) defeated Bates College (0-3) 6-1 on Tuesday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. Florida Southern secured the doubles point with a sweep across all three pairs and clinched the match with victories in five of the six singles matches.

Edoardo Melindo opened with a 6-3 win at No. 3 doubles against Phillippe Kosygin and Will Marshall.
Bosko Boskovic and
Gabriel Jornert followed with a 6-4 triumph at No. 2 doubles over Nicolas Ozer and James Sacco. The final doubles match saw
George Russell and
Onur Turgut complete the sweep, defeating Eric Diop and Josh Maller 7-5 at No. 1 doubles.
In singles play, the Mocs continued their dominance, beginning with Boskovic's commanding 6-1, 6-1 victory at No. 4 singles over Maller.
Yeray Quian Darriba extended the lead with a 6-0, 6-2 decision against Sacco at No. 6 singles.
Marco Cinotti added another point for FSC, securing a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 3 singles over Tylan Ozkuzey.
Youssef ElShafei contributed to the tally with a 6-4, 6-3 win at No. 5 singles over Ozer. Garoz clinched a hard-fought match at No. 1 singles, overcoming Kosygin in three sets, 6-4, 4-6, 6-1. The Bobcats picked up their lone singles point when Diop edged Russell in a tiebreak, 6-4, 7-6(7), at No. 2 singles, but it was not enough to shift the overall outcome.
