Men's Tennis #10 in Latest ITA Poll

LAKELAND, Fla. – The Florida Southern College men's tennis team moved up in rankings, now No. 10 according to the latest Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Division II Poll, announced on Wednesday afternoon.

The Moccasins are 3-1 overall to start the season after being ranked No. 14 in the ITA preseason poll on Jan. 14. Now ranked No. 10, this is the first time since 2024, when the Mocs were ranked No. 8 during the regular season. Prior to 2024, FSC had not appeared in the top 10 since the 2011 season, with a No. 7 ranking in the regular season. The

Florida Southern opened the season on the road against a No. 3 Flagler College squad, eventually dropping that match 6-1. The only court win was from last year's Sunshine State Conference Player of the Year, Mario Garoz.

Since the loss to the Saints, FSC has won three-straight matches, including the SSC opener against Lynn University with a 6-1 victory. On Monday, the Mocs beat No. 2 Valdosta State University by a 4-3 score, arguably the best win in program history. FSC won the doubles point in that match, later securing court wins from Bosko Boskovic, Onur Turgut, and a match-winning final court from Mario Antonio Morales.

In Tuesday's match against Bates College, the Mocs had another 6-1 victory for their third-straight win. All three of those matches were completed over a four-day period, with another match on deck this week for the Mocs in Winter Park. FSC will face Rollins on the road, currently receiving votes from today's poll, after a 1-0 start to the year after a 7-0 win against Bates earlier this week.

After Rollins, the Mocs will have a road match against No. 15 Saint Leo University on Tuesday, Feb. 24, before returning to Lakeland to host Eckerd College on Friday, Feb. 27, at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center.
