LAKELAND, Fla. — Florida Southern College men's tennis (8-3) continued its strong home record as the Moccasins defeated No. 29 Grand Valley State University (3-3) 5-1 on Tuesday at the Wynee Warden Tennis Center. The Mocs secured the doubles point with victories across all three flights and followed up with four singles wins.

Gabriel Jornert began the sweep with a 6-2 win over Stephen Claassen and Lawrence Ivanov at No. 2 doubles.
George Russell and
Onur Turgut followed with a 6-4 decision at No. 1 doubles against #8 Bora Bakici and Patricio Sepulveda.
Mario Garoz and
Edoardo Melindo clinched the point with a 7-6(7) win over Andreu Martin and Denys Zamaraiev at No. 3 doubles.
In singles play, #15 Garoz extended Florida Southern's lead with a commanding 6-3, 6-1 victory over #25 Zamaraiev at No. 1 singles.
Marco Cinotti then contributed a 6-3, 6-3 win at No. 4 singles over Axel Le Ho. Grand Valley State's Bakici kept them in contention with a 1-6, 6-4, 1-0(10-8) comeback victory over Turgut at No. 2 singles.
Florida Southern sealed the match as #53 Boskovic claimed a 6-3, 6-3 win against Sepulveda at No. 5 singles.
Matthew Hewitt added another point with a 6-4, 6-3 triumph over Jorge Ruiz at No. 3 singles. The No. 6 singles match between #45
Mario Antonio Morales and Claassen was left unfinished with Morales leading 6-4 in the first set.
